Coaching Awards 2025-26

Peg McAleenan Award

Female Team Coach

Jonathan McAloon
Fredericton Christian Academy

Each year the Peg McAleenan Award is presented to the Coach of the Year for a female high school team in New Brunswick. This year’s winner of the Peg McAleenan Award is Jonathan McAloon.

A long‑time leader in NB high school basketball, Coach McAloon guided Fredericton Christian Academy to a standout season—finishing 1st in the Western Conference A Division, winning the SW Regional, and capturing the SW Provincial Sectional to earn a spot in the Final 12.

FCA proved they could play with anyone, knocking off AA and AAA teams throughout the year. Jonathan, a past Dave McPherson Award winner (2010), continues to build a culture of hard work, belief, and excellence. He now leads FCA into the SSNB A Championship game on Friday night vs. Petitcodiac.

Dave MacPherson Award

Male Team Coach

Massimo Caracristi

Salisbury Regional School

Each year the Dave MacPherson Award is presented to the Coach of the Year for a male high school team in New Brunswick. This year’s winner of the Dave MacPherson Award is Massimo Caracristi.

Coach Caracristi led Salisbury Regional School to a remarkable season, finishing 1st in the Eastern Conference, winning the NE Conference Regional, and securing the Cougars’ first-ever Final 12 appearance by capturing the NE Provincial Sectional. Beyond the team’s on‑court success, Massimo is deeply committed to the school and community. He volunteers countless hours developing players individually while building a program rooted in teamwork, accountability, and growth.

Coach Caracristi will guide SRS onto the floor Saturday afternoon as they chase their first SSNB AA Championship.
